Charlotte, NC is facing a growing affordable housing crisis as rising rents outpace wages, putting pressure on essential workers and families. To address this, Foundation For The Carolinas launched the Charlotte Housing Opportunity Investment Fund (CHOIF) in 2019, raising $53 million to leverage private capital alongside the city's public Housing Trust Fund. Managed by LISC Fund Management in partnership with LISC Charlotte, CHOIF has helped fund nearly 2,000 affordable homes through strategic investments in high-impact developments. Under the leadership of Ralphine Caldwell, LISC Charlotte has expanded its impact, launching CHOIF II to continue addressing housing needs while also investing in broader community development efforts.

What’s worse is how little transparency there is. You can’t exactly “opt out” of being profiled by a system that sells information about you to everyone but you. When the data is wrong, it’s not just inconvenient — it’s life-altering. The Fair Credit Reporting Act was supposed to keep companies like this accountable, but they’ve grown into something far beyond what regulators imagined. The good news? You can fight back legally. Such a solid post! It’s always enjoyable to see thoughtful takes like this. Speaking of great taste, I recently discovered Vanson Jackets — their designs are fire! Especially the Josh Allen Buffalo Bills Rivalries Jersey, which perfectly captures that fan energy while staying effortlessly cool and wearable.
